There are plenty of different perspectives on data anonymity: Legal, economical, technological and of course ethical ones. At the CPDP 2019 conference, Aircloak hosted a panel that brought all these different views together at one table.
The panel has investigated one of the most pressing questions currently facing us in the field of data anonymization:
What are the problems and initial steps towards anonymization certification?
The experts were:
Lorraine Maisnier-Boché, McDermott, Will & Emery
Félicien Vallet, CNIL
Ilya Vasilenko, Teralytics
Max von Grafenstein, University of the Arts Berlin
Paul Francis, Max Planck Institute for Software Systems
Felix Bauer, Aircloak
The panel described the state of DPA certification programs and explored the extent to which anonymization can truly be determined, methods for doing so and the role that risk assessment plays.
Have fun watching!
